The Faculty of Social Science has recently announced the results of the Research Excellence Award 2023 and the Outstanding Research Impact Award 2023, and Prof. Edward Ng has been honored with both prizes.
Prof. Ng won the Research Excellence Award 2023 in recognition of his outstanding achievements. Over the past five years, he has received 16 design project awards, secured HK$60 million in grants, and published 71 journal papers and publications.
Additionally, alongside Prof. Helene Fung and Prof. Jean Woo, Prof. Ng received the Outstanding Research Impact Award 2023 as a result of their collaborative efforts on the HK$20 million RGC-RIF projects. The impact of their work has led to significant changes, including the modification of warning systems at the Hong Kong Observatory, the development of new design guidelines by the Green Building Council, and the updating of community action plans by various NGOs.
