Professor Shuaizhong Wang
, Assistant Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, has received the DigitalFUTURES Young Award 2026 in recognition of his contributions to digital structural design and fabrication.
The DigitalFUTURES Young Award honors emerging scholars who demonstrate significant impact in computational design, robotic fabrication, and advanced digital technologies. Prof. Wang was recognized for his research advancing equilibrium-based structural design and innovative upcycling systems that transform construction waste into structurally performative and architecturally expressive structures. His project Concrete Spolia, presented at the Venice Biennale 2025, exemplifies a forward-looking approach to material reuse and sustainable construction.
