Venue Zone F, LSK Architecture Building, CUHK

Artificial intelligence is overhauling the technological foundation of design and construction. From generative algorithms and machine-learning-driven optimisation to augmented reality and robotic fabrication, it demonstrates unprecedented potential to transform our disciplinary paradigm, at a critical historical moment where the desire to build must be reconciled with the planetary need for sustainability and resilience.

To reimagine the entangled agencies of human and artificial intelligences, this seminar brings together voices at the forefront of research and practice. Together, we will investigate how intelligent systems expand creative collaboration, challenging traditional notions of authorship and control. We will explore how digital landscapes unsettle the temporal-spatial boundaries of place, empowering social participation. We will interrogate how automation can be redirected from resource exploitation toward material efficiency and circular economy, decolonising ethical frameworks. Ultimately, we ask: how can artificial imagination reshape our agencies for world-making?
