The course aims to research and understand the financial mechanisms behind these large developments to create impactful programs and theories of change, examining how investments can generate precise impacts for both people and the environment.

This course explains how the futuristic architectural visions are relevant to the needs of our world today and the practices of realizing these visions within the contexts of today’s geopolitics and international relationships. Focusing on realizing the above mentioned urban visions and sustainable development goals, we need to develop urban, technological and financial innovations. The course will offer a multidisciplinary platform to discuss various aspects of development from the financial innovation perspective, including central and development banking mechanisms, macroeconomics, next generation development programs, change-making design and measurement methodologies, and career pathways in development institutes. It is open to students from diverse backgrounds and faculties, such as architecture and real estate, and those with relevant experience from previous studies. The course structure will integrate both top-down and bottom-up perspectives to provide a comprehensive understanding of development, particularly where impact meets finance. This approach will enable students to explore the full spectrum of development knowledge, from macro to micro, helping them identify their areas of interest for further research or exploration, both during the course and after graduation. More details on this methodology will be introduced in the methods session.
