How has the increasing focus on “environment” and “sustainability” in recent years transformed the conception, practice, and education of architecture? As architects and built environment professionals become more aware of the impacts of climate change and the planet's limited resources, fully embracing the “environmental turn” remains a challenge. Despite widespread calls for more sustainable building practices, there is still a continual need to explore how emergent architectural ideas connect with concepts and innovations from other environmental disciplines.
In this seminar, speakers will share their ongoing research related to the “environmental turn” in architecture and its allied fields. Each presentation will explore how their work may inspire a shift in design practices and foster new visions for sustainable futures that transcend current paradigms.
