Public Lecture 3: What if Architecture Can Make a Difference?

Lecture Information

Date 3.4.2025

Time HKT 12:00 pm

Location Zone F, LSK Architecture Building, CUHK

Our existence is interdependent; none of us can exist in isolation. Everything is interconnected, and architecture is no exception. Architecture is made up of non-architectural elements: whether they are economic, social, cultural, environmental, technological, or political.

To us, the act of architecture is building relationships in this web: the connections between the visible and the invisible, between humans and other beings, between humans and the environment, and ultimately, the connection with ourselves.

Architecture is inherently ambiguous, embodying the coexistence of opposites. It balances logic and emotion, creativity and control, individuality and collectivity, persistence and letting go. We are continually navigating this duality, striving for balance. It is an exploratory journey into the unknown, grounded in the belief that our work can make a difference, creating meaning out of the meaningless.
