Introduction
At the CUHK School of Architecture, the design studios resemble the forum in a city, the laboratory in a scientific institution, as well as a workshop where craftsmanship is highly valued. For the BSSC (AS) programme, design studios are structured in a sequential manner to enable students to start from fundamental concepts and advance progressively to more complex issues in architectural design. The MArch programme consists of advanced design studios that aim to articulate intellectual positions and demonstrate their impact on design, offering opportunities for research-based architectural exploration while maintaining professional standards.
