Florence Chan is Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture, CUHK. Her research interests include building tectonics and technical aspects of supertall buildings.

An architect with over 15 years of professional experience, Florence has practiced in the US, Canada, China and Hong Kong. She is currently a Director at KPF, overseeing a series of mixed-use projects, with a special focus on supertall buildings and exterior wall design.

Her recently completed 600m Ping An Finance Center redefines the skyline of Shenzhen. In Guangzhou, her 530m CTF Center puts a completion to the Zhujiang New Town skyline. In Hong Kong, Florence completed Hysan Place, the first LEED Platinum (NC) building in Hong Kong. Soon to be added to the list of completed projects include Victoria Dockside by the Victoria Harbour waterfront and OCT Tower in Shenzhen.

An alumna of CUHK, Florence received her Bachelor of Social Science in Architectural Studies with first class honour, during which she was also a recipient of Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarship. After CUHK, she further her studies at Harvard, where she received her Master in Architecture degree.

Florence is a licensed architect in the US and Hong Kong, and a LEED Accredited Professional. She has been a frequent speaker in universities and various conferences, including the CTBUH Regional Conference 2017 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, CTBUH Conference 2016 in Shenzhen, Outokumpu Experience 2015 in Berlin, among others.
