Hendrik TIEBEN has been Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture of CUHK since 2006. He was born in Germany and studied architecture at TU Braunschweig, University of Florence and ETH Zurich . He continued his studies in the Institute for History and Theory of Architecture at ETH Zurich where he completed his doctoral dissertation “An Examination of History, Memory and Identity in the Work of Aldo Rossi Based on his Design for the German History Museum ” in 2005. From 2000 to 2002 he taught as a junior faculty at ETH Zurich , and from 2005 to 2006 as a lecturer at HTW Chur and the Chur Institute of Architecture. At CUHK, Professor Tieben teaches architectural theory and urban design. His research focuses on issues of urban heritage and identity. His current research project investigates the transformation of Hong Kong 's urban tissue. Hendrik Tieben is a registered architect in Germany (AKNW) and has practiced in Germany , Italy and Switzerland . Selected Publications H.
